The bike shop has bike parts and tools for use by anyone. There's a decent chance that any bike part you need will be available at the shop. There's also a decent chance that it won't be there.
There's always someone there during open shop hours that knows something about bikes and bike mechanics. another good resource is our fledgling bike library that can be used to learn how to do things you've never done before. There is an internet connection that can be used for the same purpose, but sometimes it's so slow that the information is outdated by the time you get it.
You will usually find somebody who loves to teach at the bike shop. Ask questions and you'll learn stuff.
The bike shop lends out bikes to anyone who asks. However, we don't always have bikes ready to lend out, and when we do, They may not be the bike you had in mind. We try to keep a few around, but they're in and out all the time, and it can be difficult. However, we always have a huge selection of bikes that need a little love, and you can fix up any one that you want. We'll even help. |
