As many of you may have noticed, it is impossible to write certain words on this forum without them being changed. C-A-R become carnosaur, T-R-U-C-K becomes truckosaurus, D-R-I-V-E-R become dwiver. I am curious if anyone has any desire to change some of the more common terms to ... well, the words that they originally were.
Argument 1, in favor of changes: it sometimes might make this forum a hard place to engage in serious discussion. When I read dwiver I feel like I am reading something from a child.
Counterpoint 1, STFU Garret: this forum is not a place to be taken that seriously, or else maybe you just don't know how to use the disarming nature of thoughts re: children in the context of a discussion.
Argument 2, in favor of filtering: it keeps potty mouths out. You can't say shi....err, poop, no matter how hard you try. shi....err, poop shi....err, poop shi....err, poop!
Counterpoint 2, 1st Amendment: I can say whatever shi....err, poop I want. Argh! Don't censor me!
Argument 3, in favor of filtering: it creates inside jokes for our group. Chris tim turner is a name that cannot be written as ... well, shoot, I can't even show you how I originally typed it. That's kind of funny.
Counterpoint 3, divisive much?: but that excludes people, when the jokes are all insidey and stuff.
Counterpoint 3b, haha: yeah, but they are so funny. Seriously, I love you, Chris tim turner. Ooooh, shi....err, poop!

I would also like to say that this post will look really weird if we get rid of the autocorrect stuff ... all of the originally-intended text remains, which means that there will be no context for the carnosaur truckosaurus dwiver Chris tim turner shi....err, poop discussion.
Also, I will look very profane. shi....err, poop.
Don't forget the monster, spelled M-O-O-S-E! |
